Cottoneaster
Dull, dull, dull today. No light and very little time for taking pictures. My daughter was working from 12.30 -2.30 this afternoon and then from 5.00 overnight, so we had to have Sunday lunch at about 2.45.
I managed to get most of it prepared and then in between peeling the vegetables and putting the yorkshire pudding on, I had a quick turn around the garden. Yesterday, the sun was lighting up the stems of the bracken and turning them a beautiful pink colour, but today, they were just brown. The colour in the garden came from the cottoneaster bush. The leaves have turned and are not too far from the colour of the berries. So I managed a few shots of this and then went back to cooking.
Tonight I need to get the recycling done, as I have an early appointment with the mother-in-law at the eye infirmary tomorrow. It's a bit of a make or break one - if her eyes have improved, they will continue the treatement, if not, then it will just be a case of monitoring to make sure her eyes don't get any worse. If they do discontinue the treatment, it may make her take the decision to give up the idea of driving and then she can sell her car, which at the moment is sitting unused in her driveway.
