A little magic happened here

Trying to help a family locate details of a gravestone, I went to visit Crail Churchyard not long after dawn this morning. Took lots of photographs, then returned home to analyse and look for more information.

Determining that it was the correct headstone I was looking at, I returned later in the day and lo and behold the sunlight was much stronger and I was able to see some detail of the lettering. Enough to be sure that the inscription matched the details in Erskine Beveridge's book of 1890 about the Churchyard Memorials of Crail.
