I still love the beginning of advent calendar time. My Grandmother used to send us a parcel at this time of year, with advent calendars and decorations. A wonderful sparkly, colourful parcel. With that in mind, I gave the younger boys a box of Christmas goodies - some shiny craft things and tinsel and tacky decorations for their room. A new tradition this year! They loved it too.
