2013 Advent Calendar Day 1

Bought this little sign at the School Fayre to raise money for the school and for charity. So thought just to put it up now rather than lose it in the next few weeks. So an early start for me with decorations this year.

What does Christmas mean in this day and age is it just a time to make merry, to be merry and to receive gifts or should it be more than that? For me it is time of new hope, of family and of love. As I go through advent this year I am reading Luke to feel the wonder of the coming of Jesus because after all without that all the merry in Christmas would be worthless.
