Nooksack Falls
Nooksack Falls is located in Whatcom County in the Mt. Baker National Forest Region just off of HWY 542 and has a unique split in the falls due to its rock face structure with an 80+ foot drop. At the bottom of the falls where Wells Creek ties into the North Fork is a hydroelectric plant that started generating electricity for PSE in 1906 and also provided power for the Excelsior Mine just up the creek that produced a large amount of gold with multiple stamp mills but due to the sloped area plagued with snow and mud slides shut down in 1916.
