Christmas Tree Collection
Just this morning while mucking out the horses, I was thinking about the annual Christmas Tree harvest for the Basilica in Ottobeuren and sure enough on our walk we came upon the team securing tthe load for the 4km journey. Had just missed the forester who I had wanted to talk to. Will have to try and catch him in his office in Ottobeuren in the next week or so.
This years main Christmas tree for St Peter's in Rome is being provided by Bavaria (even if they discovered on felling it that it was just inside the Czech border!). It starts it's journey today and should be in Rome by Friday.
Although another lovely sunny day there was a nasty north east breeze, hence keeping to the forest and it's shelter. Remains cold at max 2°C but the nights are not that cold.
Hope all got Monday safely behind them!
