Christmas present

A couple of weeks ago Richard asked what I'd like for Christmas. I thought for about 5 seconds and then said, "A deer fence."

And here it is. He finished it yesterday. At last, I can keep the buggers out of my garden.

I got up in the night to pee, and when I came back, I noticed something on the floor next to my bed. Bending down, (I'm very short sighted) I saw that it was an enormous slug! It must be living amongst the plants in my bedroom. Thank God I didn't stand on it when I got out of bed. I must have missed it by half an inch.
