Day 1

Day 1: I am starting a journal today anticipating the arrival of our new baby due Feb 14, 2014. Chris and I would like to take a picture of our baby everyday. This journal will also serve the purpose of being a day by day account of time spent with my parents. Mom was diagnosed with ALS in January of 2013. She has already declined a great deal and it is heartbreaking to walk this journey with her but so glad I am able to. She is the most amazing person and I am the luckiest daughter in the world to call her Mom. I hope to be a fraction of the Mom she was to me and my brothers.

I want to remember these sad but beautiful days, they are going too fast and I don't want to forget, ever.

This morning Chris and I woke up without plans or an alarm. It's Monday and we are both on vacation for the next week. Much needed time away from work. We just had a long weekend with my family. My brothers were all able to make it home as well as Cole (11) Peyton (9). It was a little overwhelming this weekend as I think it is really hard for Chad and Corey to see how my Mom is declining after not seeing her for an extended period of time. I tried to help Dad as much as possible, it is so hard to keep up. My Mom did it ALL with a smile on her face. She is amazing. She loves having a full and busy house! We had a large Thanksgiving dinner with Patti and Luz. We hiked with the Paquin family. We watched christmas movies with Mom.
