Getting to know you

We now have had two loads of young beef animals arrive from Frome Market, average age 6 to 7 months. They are settling in well and I like to go and talk to them in their yard as they wander up to the gate with inquisitive faces. Having sold some of the large and ready ones during late summer for much needed cash flow we have had to buy in some younger ones to fill the gap. The finished cattle which were going to market on Wednesday will now have to wait until the week after as no animal can leave the farm for a set period when there has been a cattle movement on to our holding.

Tidied up the house and cooked for tomorrow when we have friends coming to lunch.
