A Sad Day Today
I heard today that a good friend of mine had to have her 13 year old greyhound put to sleep yesterday. He was a beautiful dog, a gentle giant, but unfortunately suffered a stroke on Saturday. She had got him, an ex racing greyhound, after she had lost her husband and the dog had been a great friend and comforter for 11 years. It is always so heartbreaking when you have to make this difficult decision. We know that it will come but it doesn't make it any easier.
I chose another picture of Bud digging his hole again, to remind myself that there is always another dog waiting in the wings for you. Never a replacement but another, different character. Bud is my 7th dog, Poppy my 6th, I remember all of them.
