Nice surprise

We have lived here for almost 2 years now. The garden is a nice size but not huge so imagine my delight when I discovered a rose that I did not know we had. The blooms are not very special and to be honest the plant looks very unloved as it pushed its way out from the enveloping conifers but the fact they were there gave me great pleasure (and a silly smile). On a murky December day the bright blooms lifted my sprits no end.
I will try and look after it for next year when we could get better blooms, but less of a surprise.
