Leichhardt Town Hall

Lorraine and I were on our way to the movies at the newly refurbished Palace Cinema in Norton Street so while waiting for the traffic lights to change I grabbed my blip for the day! All to easy.

Leichhardt Town Hall is quite an impressive old building according to the Leichhardt Council website it "was completed in the centenary year of 1888. Designed by architects, Drake and Walcott, in the Victorian Free Classical style it was officially opened the same year. The town hall marked the ‘coming of age’ of the Leichhardt area which was undergoing a period of rapid development. The site of the town hall is the highest west of Sydney between Martin Place in the city centre and the Blue Mountains." So there you have it.

The movie we saw was 'One Chance'. It was a pleasant afternoon movie about a Paul Potts who went on to win a UK talent show back around 2007.
