#Advent 3 God created humankind in his own image

I've had a lovely day with the chaplaincy team at St Benet Biscop's today. We were looking at Catholic Social Teaching in general, and global justice in particular. Those principles include the common good, solidarity and dignity (among others). This was particularly apt as the liturgical readings of the day focus on the things revealed to children, and the Jesse Tree readings focus on everyone being created in the image of God - and therefore having human dignity, intrinsic worth.

"So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."
Genesis 1:26-28

Today's photo, taken inside the prayer room, includes a Romero Cross from El Salvador, as well as paintings by pupils for last year's Advent liturgy. Creativity, an aspect of God that we reflect on today, shared between cultures and between ages.

Dignity, creativity, the sanctity of life... so many areas to reflect on today.
