Suffering Suffragetes

New Zealand, the first country to give women the vote. These are some of the sculpture /pictures which commemorate some of these early pioneer women politicians. Now we have had women Prime Ministers, many Heads of Government Departments and too many others to count in high ranking positions through out the land. We have in our traditionally boys only school, a woman rector ( top position) and Principal of the College, as well as admitting girls into the school in very recent times. It is easy to forget that it was not always that way.
I particularly liked the way the light was falling on the women in this shot. It was a natural highlight.
