It's a bit too early!

I wouldn't normally begin to decorate the house until the 2nd / 3rd week in December, but the children visit on a Tueasday and Eve asked to begin the Christmas decorations today (neighbours of hers have had their decorations up for more than a week).
I explained that our tree had not yet arrived so she decided this plant on the staircase would do just as well. She has her own sense of what looks artistic (which is a wee bit different from mine) and I'm not allowed to alter things. However the plant looks not too bad so I'll probably leave it.
