Bah Humbug

Had to go into town today to pick up a delivery. As I passed the Christmas Market, the Big Wheel and the Ice Rink on the bus along, I said to myself, I'll get a good blip today. Pick up the parcel, do a wee bit of Christmas shopping and then meander along to the fun stuff, I thought.
There wasn't much fun going on in the St James Centre. I obviously don't go up town often enough to immunise myself against the collective grumpiness that shopping in a confined space induces in people. Even the man in John Lewis was grumpy with me for bringing my credit card without the reference number and almost had me going home empty handed. As it was, I became infected with grumpiness and just got back on the bus instead of blipping the sights.
