London at night

today I had the opportunity to see The View from the top of the Shard. Its a very good (if pricey) relaxed and friendly experience. The day was not the best, grey, glum and not great visibility but as it got dark the gloom seemed to go as the lights came on.

Up in two super fast lifts to floor 69 ans a 360 degree viewing floor then up a few stairs to floor 72 and and outdoors but still behind glass walls. this beats the wheel by a mile.

the view blipped is of London Bridge with Canary Wharf in the background, in the opposite direction is Westminster and between a lovely view of St Pauls.

The only downside is it wasnt designed by photographers. The platform lighting is very reflective on the glass walls and tripods are not allowed (which is understandable as everyone else would be tripping over them)
