Starlight joy
Another 'after midnight' shot I am afraid.
After dinner last night half of the team decided to go to a club in Romford. I hung back with the more sedate part of the team and we sat shooting the breeze for a while. Just before midnight I persuaded people that we should go and join our colleagues, just to be team-y. I drove us there and I am very glad I did.
It was obvious from the moment we arrived that there was something a little bit different about the place. The patrons were a really mixed bunch. Some had very obvious special needs; varying physical abilities and some people with learning disabilities. The rest of the crowd were mainly just 'regular Joe'. What I absolutely loved was that everyone was signing and dancing and mingling together. There was no hint of mistrust, ridicule or that air of tension I sometimes feel in a boozy place. In fact, I cannot remember going to such a good natured and inclusive place. It is a shame that it is worthy of note. All places should be like this but sadly they aren't.
So hooray for you Romford! Well done for creating a place where fun is the common denominator, regardless of size, shape, colour, ability.... You're leading the way my friends and I salute you!
BTW, this lady isn't really green, nor did I alter the photo, it just the glow from the karaoke cheese that you can see :0)
Night night x
