Thermal spa
Well I've had worst mornings. Stayed up late finishing my book (a trashy thriller that was pretty rubbish but utterly consuming nonetheless!) so had a lovely lie-in until 9am.
Face-timed Angus and Audrey having breakfast 180 miles away from my hotel bed. Angus said she's really missed me this trip, much more than usual. Apparently she's been running round the house looking for me and saying "Mummy, Mummy, Mummmmmeeeee?????"
I had a sumptuous (yet tasteless - cold killing my tastebuds) breakfast at the hotel. Sat next to two PR girls who were gabbing on and on self-importantly. Made me realise I don't miss that side of London PR life!
After breakfast, I spent a blissful hour in the Thermal Spa. The steam room was great for my cold (albeit temporarily) and there was an amazing thermal pool with jet sprays that massaged different parts of your body. Stayed under the shoulder jets for about half an hour! I'm not normally a fan of spas as I struggle with the whole forced relaxation thing, but I did enjoy this one.
Just on the train home. Being picked up by Angus at the station, then I'll drive Audrey and I home for some mother-daughter time. Missed my little treasure. The trip was nice but will be equally nice to be home in Christmassy Chorlton....
