Aaiieee! That's one "hot" tamale!
Another holiday tradition is making tamales. This was an all day event and our hard work sure did pay off.
Many thanks to my mom for her recipe, supervision and assistance. Perhaps next year we will fly solo and see if we can recreate the recipe just like "grama" does.
This was the largest batch we've made so far. 185 of them which is a little over 15 dozen. Yikes!!
We made traditional pork with red chile, pork with green, chicken with red and chicken with green. Daughter even managed to sneak in a few with just masa and mozzarella cheese!
This is definitely one of my favorite traditions <3
