Bangkok Airport - again

Last time we were in Bangkok, in 2010, there was major political unrest. Red-shirted protesters were occupying large parts of the city centre and there were frequent violent clashes and lives were lost. Despite the trouble we were very impressed by the resilience of the people and the hospitality and friendship they still showed to visitors like ourselves.

This time, while we were in Thailand we heard daily news of increasing unrest against the current government, which has been widely reported. The situation is not resolved yet and I desperately hope it can be sorted without further bloodshed. The Thai people deserve better than the yo-yo politics and strife they have had to put up with in recent years.

We were sorry to leave the country and are resolved to go back to South East Asia soon - there is nowehere else like it!
