Late (very) Field Corn
This yellow maize field looked lovely this evening as the fog was rising up and blocking the sun setting in the valley. I think I could have started a few minutes earlier to capture a better lighted blip.
I have no idea why the farmer's cow corn has not been combined. Perhaps the soil was too wet to support the machine. The little field is on the banks of the Chenango River and the state highway which runs through the Oxford village. Such 'bottom land' gets flooded frequently. You can just glimpse the yellow lines of this two lane highway. A friend and I are driving down that road into the city tomorrow for some wild shopping!
The hillsides across the river show patches of lingering snow. Tomorrow the expected rain will wash that away.
