When a cat wants to send a whiff of pheromones to his vomeronasal organ on the roof of his mouth, he keeps his mouth ajar like this for a few seconds. Apparently, Pearl smells very nice.

Cleo still doesn't know how to get along with the cats. She wants to chase them and nip at them. She definitely had some herding dog genes. Pearl puts up with it. But Jack refuses to venture outside our bedroom. He is such a brawny but wimpy boy.
