Above the storm
From up here it all looks so calm, bright, and serene.
Down below, the country is being battered by a winter storm. 100 mph wind gusts and snow fall in Scotland, and very high tides right down the East coast as the weather front moves South.
I wondered this morning when (or if) I would get back home to my lovely family today. British Airways surprised me yet again, with a friendly, helpful, and practical approach to Heathrow's approaching weather issues.
An earlier scheduled flight bound for Glasgow had closed just as I arrived at the airport. With a couple of seats available they made a call, re-opened the flight, and swapped my boarding pass over with a smile and a friendly chat.
It made me a very happy customer, and for them there was potentially one less person to need sorted later amongst the impending travel chaos. Well done to the BA staff... that's the perfect way to build customer loyalty.
