Aberdare sunset

Been working away for a couple of days in South Wales and specifically The Valleys area between Aberdare and Merthyr. I have worked around this area quite a lot over the years and things do seem to be stuck in stasis, Thatcher simply destroyed the area and it is a long long way from recovery. The wonderful, funny and generous people of this area deserve so much more. The scale of the mining operation that was in this area has to be seen to be believed as almost everywhere you look there is a remnant of a pit.

High up on the hills the area is stunning, especially at this time of year with the sun creating deep shadows in amongst the mountains, I would of quite happily spent all day with a camera.
