New security measures at Atlanta Airport?

Was in Atlanta Airport this morning for meetings.

In the atrium just before security, they have this dinosaur! It was a Yangchuanosaurus (whatever that is).

Maybe its to scare away the bad guys.

After a pretty good trip, this was the nightmare day.

Got in late on Sunday night, circled Atlanta for ages waiting for weather to clear. Bad turbulance (screaming women!) Got to the hotel, no restaurant (cheap Marriot)...managed to get a pizza delivery to the room! It was gross.

Then after my meetings on Monday - had a 15:00 flight up to Philly to catch the plane home to Glasgow. But the storm got worse! Atlanta had 20" of rain since Friday with two people killed in flash floods.

15:00 came and went....then the delays got longer....WiFi became unusable with so many people (hence the late blip).

Inbound flight had to divert to Charlottesville as it was running out of fuel circling waiting to get in.

So definately missed my connection to Glasgow.

They kindly rebooked me on a later Manchester flight out of Philly.

Time for that came and went.

Rebooked for the last flight out of Philly to the UK (Heathrow) at 22:45.

Thankfully weather cleared and got out of Atlanta and made it up to Philly in time for that one. It was overbooked and I was offerred $550 voucher for taking the flight the next day. I declined.

Now sitting in Heathrow BMI lounge (my second home) waiting for a flight home.

I need my bed....
