Fire in the sky

The magnificent red sky this morning was certainly a warning of  dreadful weather to come.  Here we escaped with no more than strong winds (no damage) and a heavy downpour late in tha fternoon.  Others have faired much worse especially in the north of the UK with gales and storms causing disruption to services, loss of power and many being evacuated from their homes for fear of flooding.

Just before I came  to post my blip this evening the news broke that Nelson Mandela has died, aged 95.  He was, without a doubt one of the most inspirational ,  remarkable  and courageous figures of our time.
