Shopping and consumer immersion
A day in Accra and another 5 am start. Again to spend some time with a working family and chat about their breakfast habits.
Today we met Abigail, who with her 5 children and husband live in a small one room home. The kitchen is in the porch and they buy breakfast from a small kiosk (like this one) every day.
Education and nutrition are Abigail's number one priorities, with every child ready in their school uniforms with recently polished shoes (that morning we saw them doing it) to attend school today.
She managed to buy breakfast for her children for just £1.50, a chocolate drink (4 sachets shared between 5, sachets are a big thing as it allows daily purchasing) and half a loaf of bread. Really makes you think....
