Flames

As you can imagine, we were pretty tired this morning. Took all my energy just to shovel in breakfast, so I certainly didn't relish the one km uphill walk to the bus stop with carrying all our gear.
Got the bus to the Cirali Junction, a three hour ride taking in more of the spectacular coast line. Waited at the junction for a while as the dolmus usually doesn't head into Cirali until there are five passengers. When no one else turned up, we were offered the option of paying for five people, which we ended up doing not knowing if we'd be waiting there forever. Ended up being escorted on the trip by two men in uniform with velcro police badges and automatic weapons, one up front with the driver and one in the back seat. The whole area seems very peaceful, so we were a little concerned that this was some kind of set-up. Luckily, we arrived at our place unscathed!
Late lunch and a stroll on the beach to stretch our legs.

Edit: Tonight we've been up to see the Chimaera - a group of flames up on a hill that are powered by gas from the rocks beneath and never go out. This is rumoured to be where the first ever Olympic Torch was lit. Photo changed after going up here. Had some fun trying to capture patterns in the flames...
