Holidays are Coming

Today I introduced Katie to the ultimate commercialisation of Christmas, the creators of Santa Claus as we know him, the bringers of hyperactive & teeth decaying children, but the most fabulous truck on the road -The Coca Cola wagon! She thought it rather impressive. As you would when you're not even a metre tall. She liked the gospel singers. She was willing to accept a babyccino in place of the freebie can. She posed for a photo with the signs at the front of the truck. But I liked this phone one showing more of the lorry.

She had a lot of fun at ballet today. She's learnt all her dances and has now learnt the bigger kids' ones too. She was quite put out to discover that in fact she is not dancing to Never Smile at a Crocodile in the show. She does it beautifully! I was helping again in class tonight, which I love as its not normally a class mummies can watch. However, it meant that after I'd finished my admin of the second class, she didnt want to leave. She preferred to stay and dance along with the big girls.

We timed our trip to the city well. Shortly before we'd arrived, the main road in the city centre was closed. Shortly after we left the city from ballet, it was underwater with the floods that have hit East Yorkshire. Our home is miles away from it, but Friends have been stranded as buses & trains are cancelled, other friends in the emergency services have had leave cancelled and shifts extended & added to help deal with it all. Stay safe out there local folk.
