Bayeux Tapestry for Plants

I'm late with this and not the only blipper to opt for this as a subject as followers of Feorlean will have seen when he snuck up behind me when I was taking pictures!!

Plantlife have had a wonderful idea which you can read more about here.. This appeals to me for a number of reasons not least of which is my love of plants and my love of embroidery and other textile crafts. There are at least two ideas in my head for panels for this project - now, if I could only find the time.....

I've chosen to focus on just one of the pieces because my initial reaction was to think of how Christmassy it looks. Not sure that it is though. On closer inspection, it has a Harry Potter theme and though I've read the books, I can't remember if these two woods were what Harry's and Voldemort's wands were made of. Can anyone else remember?

PS And yes, I'm late with this. When I got home last night I discovered my central heating had gone off and the gas pilot light probably out. I was somewhat distracted by that!
