Kings Birthday

Today it really was the Kings birthday. Not in the same way it is every time you find yourself near a tuk tuk driver who tells you the attraction you are going to is closed because it's the Kings birthday. But not to worry because by the time you have been to his 'Lucky Buddha' souvenir shop, the attraction will be open again! Nope, today it really was the Kings birthday, and everything was open!

We arrived in Chiang Mai this afternoon and just had a wander around to find our bearings. At night we saw lots of these lanterns in the sky. It looked ace. So we went to see where they were all coming from. I think it was a celebration for the Kings birthday but it was all tourists that were lighting them.
