A Morning Hunt

Our cat hunted a mouse yesterday evening but missed it in the vestibule. When I started to organize clothes in the morning, the mouse came out and the hunt continued.

In this picture, you see a mouse already wounded and the cat just playing with it - something that gives me the creeps: why does the cat have to let free a half beaten mouse, just to catch it again and again?
