After the Storm

Shot along the A17 on my way to work. Stopped -- and parked on the hard shoulder -- twice. This was the 'scene' at the first stop. Actually, the scene at the second stop wasn't bad either but this one somehow suited my mood more, maybe because the effect of the sunlight is more visible here. That was the last of the sunlight, too ... 10 minutes later, when I had turned onto the A16, it began to rain.

No loss of life yesterday, no evacuations needed, no serious damage, no flooding, and the dikes held ... but no collective sigh of relief, just a shrug of the shoulders and back to work today. Very very Dutch. Of course, deep inside, we are rather proud of our flood defences. They are, after all, a tradition that goes back a couple of thousand years, at least.

That said, what are 120 kph winds compared to the monster of a storm that hit The Phil with 380 kph winds ... ?! This was peanuts.
