It is 2:45 pm. Flinty here thinks Nick is about to make a bad decision.

The day so far:

Up at 5:50am
Driven 45 minutes out and 45 minutes back to go mountain biking in Epping Forest

12 noon Home, washing machine on, hit the showers, walk me, run round the house madly packing a case and dog food and stuff for me for the weekend. Hang out the washing, load the car.

Now it is nearly 3 and we are setting off to drive to Preston but first we have to drive over an hour into Chelsea (London) to collect Janice and then a 'simple' exit West through London on a Friday afternoon and up the M40.

It is now 8pm and we have abandoned our trip due to traffic and are back home.

Nick will be up at 5:50 tomorrow to drive to Leeds and back for the day on his own. I meanwhile will spend the day curled up recovering.
