Calm after the storm

Early this morning it was blowing a very gusty gale and rain was lashing horizontally at the windows. Such atrocious weather that I waited until the wind had died down a little before driving to work at about 10am - oblivious of the Council's warning not to travel at all!

By 3.30pm the storm had abated somewhat, so I went for a bracing walk by the sea, expecting some spectacular, crashing waves...
