A fitting tribute to Finland's independence

Today my homeland celebrated 96 years of independence. I celebrate too, in my heart. A bit unexpectedly we received several inches of snow, enough to close the schools, even close the road to our house till the sanding truck came. "Too many cars sideways and in the ditch" they said, and would not let us pass. Because of the cold, the snow is even expected to linger a few days. Too often it melts away quickly...the mighty Pacific Ocean takes care of keeping the weather on the mild side.
