AUSSIE Beauty.....
... whilst waiting at the "turning circle" near the Dame Joan Sutherland Centre to pick up the "boss"... heard the lorikeets having a grand ole time in the gum trees above me.
They are of the Corymbia_citriodora - variety, commonly called Lemon scented gums. (Check info in the good ole WIKI)
As you can see in both pics, they are quite a lovely looking tree with the smooth trunks, and at the moment the blossoms attracting the birds.
And, you guessed it, after last night I had the camera in the boot, and thought the sun glistening through the leaves and onto the trunks would make for a good Blip, so let's see what we could end up with!!
Have a look in LARGE and see the flowers, gum nuts, and the lorikeet hanging on tight and going for it.
Enjoy.
