A great man has gone

On the day we arrived in South Africa, Nelson Mandela passed away. We had not connected the TV yet, and did not listen to the radio, so was totally oblivious to the fact, until my sister in law in Finland mentioned it in an email.

Our small town Swellendam is giving people the chance to pay tribute to him, and we signed the condolence book today. He was truly a remarkable man and touched so many lives, if only there were more like him.
