Lilli enjoying the surf at Crandon Park

Had a great day today, went to an island south of South Beach and found a deserted playground/amusement park plus adjoining tropical beach, this must be a popular outing for Miamians at the weekends, given the massive parking lot, but today, it was just for us.

The kids loved the ocean, which is so much warmer than Brittany, thank god, and we saw peacocks, foot-size lizards and many other birds. Lilli struck a pose, probably inspired by the photo shoot that was going on on the beach. The male model even did the jumping in the waves, wet shirt thing, just for us I guess...

Had lunch at a roadside Cuban outdoor place, where Sam was able to enjoy his new favourite staple, rice with black beans, and I had my favourite - fried plantains.
