(Nine Million?) Bicycles ...
Light, beautiful light in a dark place at this time of the day. Reminds me of the song about the incredible amount of bicycles in Bejing.
Nine Million Bicycles is a single by singer Katie Melua. The song was known in the Netherlands as Katie Melua sang it at the church wedding of Prince Pieter-Christiaan and Princess Anita in 2005.
The album peaked at number 23 in the Top 2000 of Dutch Radio 2.
The idea of Nine Million Bicycles writing came during a tour of Beijing. A guide had been told that there are nine million bicycles in the city.
The verses of the song begin with a little factoid, such as the fact that there are nine million bicycles in Beijing. Then this fact is confirmed or challenged, to find out that she likes at least her beloved ... ;)
