Apple Blossom

These frosty mornings are a trial. With the fruit trees having set their fruit and opened their leaves a month early I need to be out at dawn to spray them with water. The little apricot tree is very vulnerable because it is so close the the ground. This morning's frost had already nipped it before I came to the rescue.

Later, when the sun came up, I noticed the apple tree was sparkling from the spray. The blossoms are just opening and they were dripping wet. I have cropped this photo fairly close to show up the droplets.

The insect is our most numerous one. They are over everything in the garden. Next to windblown dust they are the biggest problem for the flower photographer.
