Vivid reminder of how comercial Christmas is
Busy day today. Up and managed to put the final coat of paint on the ceiling and the first coat on two of the walls before going for my Christmas haircut.
Back home to finish of painting the walls in the backroom before having lunch.
While the walls were drying we popped up town to go to Lakeland for a few bits. Going to try and make Heston Blumenthal's Whisky Gums this week and needed some silicon chocolate moulds.
We then popped into Hotel Chocolate to get some treats fro Christmas and it was packed.
On the way back we went through Multrees walk. This year they have pushed the boat out and put some lights on the tress in the middle of the Walk. It struck me that Multrees walk is meant to be the main designer street in Edinburgh and they all have Christmas window displays inviting us to spend our money. It seemed a VIVID reminder of how commercial Christmas has become.
After putting the final coat on the walls J cooked a Thai game curry for tea and we settled in for Strictly. Thinking about Multrees Walk I decided to go out and try to take a picture to capture commercial side of Christmas. After taking a couple of shots down the Walk I found this shot in the Hugo Boss window. Couldn’t think of a better way or shop to use to try and show my point. Just liked the way you can see the trees reflected in the window all the way down the Walk.
Just a shame that the lights inside the shop were on so bright.
This might be my entry for the theme of Vivid this week unless inspiration strikes tomorrow.
