Abel Tasman Beach

On a three month tour of NZ we visited the Abel Tasman national park. It was unbelievably beautiful with clear blue water and golden sands, unlike anywhere else we had seen in NZ feeling more like a tropical island. The light shimmered and reflected off the sand and really did take my breath away. The nearby Rawhiti caves on the other hand were incredibly rugged, with a very steep, dangerous path to reach. Amazing to think the two are barely an hours drive apart and so different. There are so many photos we could have chosen. The volcanic lakes, mountains and glaciers or the milky blue lakes of Hokitika’s gorge, but Abel Tasman Beach was just so unexpected with beautiful bright colours. We hope you get a small idea of the experience through this photo.
