The world through the energy of the young

Today the kids and I volunteered at my ex husband's (yes we are the living embodiment of a divorced relationship that works!), cold water swimming event at Salford, Manchester. It was a 6am start in the cold and dark and a long day helping the brave souls that took to the 6 degree water for fun, competition and charity.

What I loved however most was witnessing the kids enthusiasm for what they were doing - the four of them (my daughter and two of her friends and her younger brother) danced away to the music over the loud speaker, carried the swimmers kit with glee and encouraged all those that took part. They also loved wearing these bobble hats they were given and posted photos of themselves on Facebook declaring it an ace day. The young have so much energy (at times - my boy has hardly left the sofa today!) and joy in living - it's life affirming to be around it....
