Gold Finches

When I looked out this morning there were three of these gorgeous birds at the bird bath, but when I got to snap them one had flown away. During the morning they came back and at one stage there were six on a lavender eating the seeds. Unfortunately the captures of those are not clear as the camera focused on the plant and not the birds (I know user error, but I wanted to get them before they flitted away!) the birds are not sharp, the lavender is though! My dad favoured these little birds and called them 'King Harry's', I don't know if this is a Suffolk name for them or if was his pet name for them.
