Witnessing

It's not often that I am in the place where a bit of history is being made, so with that thought in mind I went into London this morning to visit Nelson Mandela's statue in Parliament Square, where heaps of flowers have been left to honour him.

People were still leaving tributes, standing about quietly, and taking photos. It was very moving to see what people had written on their notes and cards, mostly giving thanks for an inspiring life.

I came back here in time to help set up for the Christmas street party, which was great fun, lots of little ones in this street, and its a cul-de-
sac, so no traffic.
