All lines toward Leicester
A wonderful afternoon driving and photographing the beautiful abandonment of distant disused railways bridges, embankments and near redundant 1950's motorway infrastructure...
This bridge once carried the Great Central Railway over the M45 in Northamptonshire. The motorway opened in 1959, the GCR closed in 1963. It saw service for only four years, meaning for the remaining 50 years of its existence it has been a relic. I think the overgrown trackbed beyond gives an impression of how much time has passed.
And in a little echo of my film/print collaboration, the orientation of this structure very much leading toward to Leicester. BBC Radio Leicester still very much receivable, Im certain now there is no escape from it no matter how far I go...
Please check out my latest flickr uploads, they are both long exposures captured on 35nn film.
