a bit of green

I love the ferns that pop up anywhere they choose in the yard (in this case, in the middle of a dying piece of hedge). I like the many different shades of green and how nicely they contrast in a vase with flowers. Some days I wish I were enough of a gardener to transplant them into a more formal arrangement but I will be content to let them surprise me. My yard would never be mistaken as a gardener's yard anyway...
