To Be Eradicated

Yet another market soon to be knocked down to give space to high rises. The city's oldest market, just around the corner from my home, has fought and lived for 176 years in a rapidly developing city. Unfortunately it won't survive the Urban Renewal Authority, a quasi-governmental- profit-making body promoting urban regeneration of the city.

Most of the stall owners will have no help in finding a new home.

Few more years and Hong Kong will turn into one big shopping mall.
And these photos will be just a distant memory of the past.
